Key Points - COVID-19

• Increased viral circulation in Normandy, as in the rest of France. This affects all age groups, particularly young adults (ages 20–30). Seine-Maritime has been classified as an area of active viral circulation (ZCA). As of August 30, 2020, an increase in incidence (30.6 in Week 35 vs. 14.2 in Week 34 cases/week/100,000 inhabitants) and in the positivity rate (3.2% in Week 35 vs. 1.9% in Week 34)

• Increase in the effective reproduction number (R_eff) based on positive PCR tests for SARS-CoV-2: 1.62 (1.53–1.71)

• Hospital data: 69 hospitalizations, including 2 in intensive care, continuing to decline

• Clusters - Alert notifications for clusters: since May 11, 50 clusters have been recorded in the region, 10 of which are currently under investigation (9 in Seine-Maritime and 1 in Calvados)

• SOS Médecins: on the rise (4.8% in Week 35 vs. 4.6% in Week 34)

• Hospital emergency departments (Oscour®): Low activity, stable compared to the previous week (0.5% in Week 35 vs. 0.6% in Week 34)

• COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care facilities: 10 reports, including 8 with confirmed cases in Week 35 (vs. 12 reports in Week 34)

• Increase in mortality in Normandy, likely linked to the heat wave observed in Week 33.
