Vaccination in the Île-de-France region. Public Health Bulletin, April 2023.
Key Points
According to the SNDS-DCIR, vaccination coverage (VC) with the hexavalent vaccine varied by department: from 91% in Hauts-de-Seine and Seine-et-Marne to 78% in Seine-Saint-Denis.
Pneumococcal vaccination coverage varied less widely, from 92% in Hauts-de-Seine to 84% in Seine-Saint-Denis.
Among children aged 21 months, MMR CV (1 dose) was 93% in Île-de-France. CVs ranged from 95% in Hauts-de-Seine to 86% in Seine-Saint-Denis.
For children aged 8 months, the meningococcal C vaccination coverage (≥1 dose) was 87%. For children aged 21 months, the meningococcal C vaccination coverage (booster dose) was 90%. The 95% target has not yet been reached in the Île-de-France region.
Vaccination coverage rates for meningococcal B (recommended) are lower than those for the meningococcal C vaccine (mandatory). For 8-month-old children, meningococcal B vaccination coverage (1 dose) was 55% in Île-de-France.
Vaccination coverage estimates are partially underestimated, especially in Seine-Saint-Denis, due to the high proportion of vaccinations administered in maternal and child health centers (outside the SNDS).
HPV vaccination coverage among young girls remains low in the Île-de-France region: 40% for a single dose among 15-year-old girls (2007 cohort) and 34% for the full series among 16-year-old girls (2006 cohort).
Vaccination coverage against HPV infections among 15-year-old boys remains low, with 11% of boys born in 2007 having started their vaccination series, a slight increase compared to 9% among those born in 2006.
During the 2022–23 season, among all individuals at risk of severe influenza, vaccination coverage remained unchanged from the 2021–22 season, at 55% in Île-de-France. Vaccination coverage for the influenza vaccine among at-risk individuals remains very low and far from the 75% target.
