Key Bridges
COVID-19
SOS Médecins: decrease in the number of COVID-19-related medical procedures among those aged 65 and older. The number of procedures increased slightly among children under 15 and among those aged 15–44. Data from the Essonne and Seine-et-Marne associations are not included due to a transmission issue.
Emergency room visits: decrease in the number of visits for COVID-19 among those aged 65 and older. The indicator remained stable in other age groups. Decrease in visits followed by hospitalization.
Bronchiolitis
Among children under one year of age, there was an increase in emergency department visits for bronchiolitis, accompanied by a decrease in visits followed by hospitalization compared to week 44. Children under one year of age accounted for 91% of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis among children under two years of age and 94% of visits followed by hospitalization.
Increase in calls to SOS Médecins* for bronchiolitis among children under two years of age.
Influenza
In hospitals, activity levels related to influenza-like illness remained low in Week 45, with indicators showing a slight increase compared to Week 44. However, there was a more significant increase in emergency department visits for influenza-like illness among children under 15 in Week 45 compared to Week 44.
In private practice, visits for influenza-like illness increased at SOS Médecins* and within the Sentinelles network.
Acute gastroenteritis
Moderate activity levels were observed in the SOS Médecins network and low levels in hospital emergency departments.
Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
Since May 1, 518 imported cases of arboviruses transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes have been identified and investigated in the Île-de-France region: 504 cases of dengue, 10 cases of chikungunya, 3 cases of Zika, and 1 case of co-infection (dengue + chikungunya). Other cases are currently under investigation.
The first confirmed case of chikungunya was documented in Île-de-France in late July and classified as locally acquired, as it met the definition criteria. No other cases have been detected.
