Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Update as of June 9, 2023.

Key points

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • Since the start of enhanced surveillance in the region, 24 cases of arboviral diseases—23 confirmed cases and 1 probable case—have been identified in Île-de-France, including 23 cases of dengue and 1 case of chikungunya, all of which were imported.

  • The cases were imported from the Caribbean (10), Latin America (6), Asia (4), and sub-Saharan Africa (4). Among the cases, 23 (96%) were potentially viremic in mainland France. None resided in Île-de-France municipalities colonized by the tiger mosquito.

High temperatures, heat wave

  • The Île-de-France region was under a green alert in S22 and a green alert in S23 as of the date of this epidemiological update.

  • No impact on e-heatwave indicators in S22.

Heroin

  • A significant number of heroin overdoses have been reported in Île-de-France since May 16. As of June 2, the DGS had recorded 24 cases of overdoses with varying degrees of severity and clinical presentations. Currently, these cases have been identified in northern Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, and northern Paris.

  • According to authorities, analyses have shown that the heroin was mixed with at least two synthetic cannabinoids.

  • In response to this concerning situation, the ARS has alerted all SAMU and Emergency Reception Services (SAU) in the region to facilitate the management and identification of additional cases and has activated the Île-de-France Addictovigilance network, comprising the Paris Addictovigilance Center (CEIP-A), the SINTES system, and the CAARUD in Aulnay-sous-Bois run by the Aurore association.

Pollen

  • Due to very high concentrations of grass pollen, an increase in conjunctivitis and allergies is being observed in S22 across all age groups.
