Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Update as of August 16, 2023.
Key points
Chikungunya, dengue, Zika
Since the start of enhanced surveillance in the region, 101 cases of arboviral diseases—88 confirmed cases and 13 probable cases—have been identified in Île-de-France, including 100 cases of dengue and 1 case of chikungunya, all of which were imported.
The cases were imported from the Caribbean (54), Asia (18), Latin America (17), and sub-Saharan Africa (12). Among the cases, 92 (91%) were potentially viremic in Île-de-France, and 42 (41.6%) resided in municipalities in the region colonized by the “tiger mosquito” (Aedes albopictus).
Extreme heat, heat wave
The Île-de-France region was at green alert level in week 32: a slight increase in emergency room visits, primarily based on non-specific iCanicule indicators: dehydration and hyponatremia, and mostly among the elderly. The Île-de-France region is at green alert level in week 33.
COVID-19
Emergency room visits and SOS Médecins calls related to COVID-19 increased compared to the previous two weeks across all age groups, as did activity levels. The number of visits followed by hospitalizations also increased but remains low, with 86 hospitalizations in week 32 compared to the previous week (22 hospitalizations).
