Key Points

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: Overall stabilization in the number of COVID-19-related medical procedures and a slight increase among those aged 65 and older.

  • Emergency room visits: In S46, the number of visits for COVID-19 has stabilized. Decrease among those aged 15–44 and increase among those aged 65 and older. Increase in visits followed by hospitalization.

Asthma

  • The number of asthma-related healthcare visits rose sharply between weeks 45 and 46 among those aged 2 to 14, amid a surge in RSV-1. It remained relatively stable for those aged 15 and older.

Bronchiolitis

  • In hospitals, the number of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis continued to rise, accompanied by a significant increase (+66%) in visits followed by hospitalization compared to week 45.

  • Children under one year of age accounted for 90% of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis among children under two years of age and 95% of visits followed by hospitalization.

Flu

  • Compared to week 45, the number of patients seeking care for flu-like symptoms increased significantly in private practice (SOS Médecins) as well as in hospitals during week 46.
