Public Health Surveillance in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy. Epidemiological Update, October 8, 2015.

Key Points

Bronchiolitis SurveillanceIn the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, as in Picardy, the proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age has remained stable following the increase observed since week 37 of 2015, both at SOS Médecins clinics and in emergency departments. In the absence of significant RSV circulation, the moderate level of bronchiolitis observed is likely linked to the increased circulation of rhinovirus in recent weeks, following the reopening of childcare facilities.

Surveillance of severe influenza casesSurveillance of severe influenza cases will resume in early November (week 45 of 2015).

Surveillance of acute gastroenteritisIn mainland France, the incidence of acute gastroenteritis seen in general practice consultations is below the epidemic threshold. In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, indicators from SOS Médecins and emergency departments remain stable at low levels and in line with expected values.
