Public Health Surveillance in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy. Epidemiological Update, November 12, 2015.

Bronchiolitis SurveillanceIn the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, the increase in calls to SOS Médecins for bronchiolitis slowed in week 45 but remains above the epidemic threshold. The same trend is observed for hospital indicators, while the number of calls to the Bronchiolitis Network 59 continues to rise. In the Picardy region, the proportion of SOS Médecins consultations for bronchiolitis remains stable, and the regional alert threshold has not yet been exceeded.

Surveillance of influenza-like illnessesIn mainland France, activity remains low and stable. In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, there has been a decrease in calls to SOS Médecin and emergency room visits this week. Indicators remain below epidemic thresholds. In the Picardy region, the number of calls to SOS Médecin is increasing but remains within expected ranges.

Surveillance of severe influenza cases: In mainland France, no additional cases were reported this week. The first severe case of influenza was reported in week 44; it involved a patient hospitalized in Picardy who tested positive for influenza B.

Surveillance of acute gastroenteritis: In mainland France, as well as in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, activity remains low and in line with expected levels.
