Key points
Surveillance of Bronchiolitis
The current epidemiological situation in mainland France shows that, among children under 2 years of age, the daily number of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis has continued to decline over the past 3 weeks.
In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the proportion of calls to SOS Médecins for bronchiolitis among infants under 2 years of age is stable this week and remains at an expected level. Hospital indicators continue to decline, and calls to the Bronchiolite 59 network are also decreasing this week.
In Picardy, the proportion of SOS Médecins calls for bronchiolitis remains in line with expectations, and the number of isolated RSV cases among hospitalized patients continues to decline.
Surveillance of influenza-like illnesses
In mainland France, epidemiological and virological indicators are on the rise. The epidemic threshold, as defined by the Sentinelles network, has been exceeded. The start of the epidemic will be declared if the threshold is exceeded again in week 04.
In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, indicators are generally stable, except for calls to SOS Médecins in Picardy, which continue to rise. Regional epidemic thresholds have been exceeded for the fifth consecutive week in both regions.
Surveillance of severe influenza cases
In mainland France, 144 severe cases of influenza have been reported this season, including 14 in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and 2 in Picardy.
Surveillance of acute gastroenteritis
In mainland France, the incidence of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice has fallen below the epidemic threshold.
In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, calls to SOS Médecins are declining and have fallen below regional epidemic thresholds. Visits to emergency departments for acute gastroenteritis are stable in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and declining in Picardy.
