Key Points

Oscour® network emergency department visit indicators:

  • Among adults (18 years or older), an increase in the monthly number of emergency room visits for mental health issues in January–February 2022 compared to the same period in previous years;

  • among children (under 18), the monthly number of emergency room visits for mental health issues in January–February 2022 was similar to January–February 2021 but higher than the average for visits from 2018 to 2020;

  • Among those over 11 years of age, an increase in the monthly number of emergency room visits for suicidal ideation at the start of 2022;

  • across all age groups, an increase in the monthly number of emergency room visits for anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders at the start of 2022 compared to the start of 2021.

Medical service indicators from the SOS Médecins associations:

  • Across all age groups, an increase in calls to SOS Médecins for anxiety and depressive states in January 2022 compared to January of previous years.

Indicators from the CoviPrev survey, waves 31-32 (January-February 2022):

  • A slight increase in the proportion of reported sleep problems;

  • The proportion of reported anxiety disorders remains very high in wave 32 (31%);

  • Increase in the life satisfaction score and decrease in the proportion of reported depressive disorders and suicidal thoughts;

  • No statistically significant changes in these indicators were observed.
