Key points

In mainland France:

  • three heat waves occurred during June and July, including a heatwave (July 17–21),

  • the number of visits to emergency rooms and calls to SOS Médecins did not see any significant increases during these episodes,

  • however, visits for heat-related conditions were on the rise, particularly during the heatwave

In the Hauts-de-France region:

  • only the Oise department was placed under a yellow heatwave alert on July 18. Aside from this episode and this department, no other weather events have been reported since June 1,

  • a few isolated increases were observed in visits to emergency rooms and calls to SOS Médecins during the heat wave of July 17–21.
