Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

In Martinique, Zika virus circulation remains very low; no outbreaks have been identified in the past 4 weeks. Martinique is in Phase 4 of the Psage* “end of epidemic.” In Guadeloupe, since the end of the epidemic, epidemiological surveillance indicators show very low viral circulation.In Saint Barthélemy, the end of the epidemic was officially declared on January 26, 2017, by the Management Committee. The criteria for the end of the epidemic, previously defined by CEMIE members, were met in S2017-01. In Saint Martin, the epidemic continues to decline. The Committee of Experts on Infectious and Emerging Diseases (CEMIE) will meet shortly to discuss the evolution of the epidemiological situation. In French Guiana, over the past five weeks, the number of clinically Zika-suggestive cases has been low. No new outbreaks have been identified or have been active for several weeks.
