Epidemiological Surveillance in the Lorraine Region. Update as of October 24, 2013.

Key Findings

  • Whether in hospitals or in private practice, the number of asthma diagnoses accounts for only 1% to 2% of all coded diagnoses. Asthma surveillance is winding down to make way for monitoring winter illnesses and will resume in the spring.

  • No increase in bronchiolitis diagnoses among children under 2 years of age has been observed since the beginning of September.

  • The number of diagnoses of gastroenteritis and diarrhea remains low in both hospital and outpatient settings.
