Epidemiological Surveillance in the Lorraine Region. Update as of October 10, 2013.

Key Findings

  • An increase in asthma diagnoses has been observed in the pre-hospital setting since early September (week 37). This increase primarily affects the 2-14 age group. It has not been observed in the hospital setting over the past two weeks.

  • No increase in bronchiolitis diagnoses has been observed among children under 2 years of age since the beginning of September.

  • Similarly, the number of diagnoses of diarrhea and gastroenteritis remains low in both hospital and pre-hospital settings.
