Epidemiological Surveillance in the Lorraine Region. Update as of August 1, 2013.

Key Findings

  • In both hospitals and private practice, the number of asthma diagnoses remains low.

  • The number of allergy diagnoses made in hospitals is rising slightly but remains low, as is the case in private practice.

  • The number of diagnoses of hyponatremia, hyperthermia, and heatstroke made in hospitals is increasing. This trend is not observed in private practice. Whether in hospitals or private practice, the proportion of diagnoses of heat-related conditions accounts for less than 1% of all diagnoses made.

  • According to the alert map from the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), with the exception of the Vosges department, which is at low allergy risk, the three other departments in the Lorraine region (Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, and Moselle) are at moderate allergy risk for grasses for the period from July 26 to August 2, 2013.
