Epidemiological Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Update as of November 7, 2013.

Highlights

  • Over the past few weeks, influenza activity has remained low at both the regional and national levels.

  • Since early October, the number of bronchiolitis diagnoses in children under 2 years of age has remained low in Alsace. However, an increase in the number of emergency room visits for this condition has been observed in northern France. It is therefore possible that the outbreak will soon reach the eastern regions.

  • The number of cases of gastroenteritis and diarrhea diagnosed by the SOS Médecins d’Alsace associations has remained stable for several weeks.

  • Since October 1, two cases of carbon monoxide poisoning have been reported to the surveillance system.
