Key Points
Enhanced Surveillance for Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in France
Between May 1 and September 29, 2016, 6 confirmed imported cases of dengue and 16 confirmed imported cases of Zika were reported in the Bas-Rhin (the only department under enhanced surveillance in the ACAL region).
Surveillance of gastroenteritis
Over the past two weeks, the proportion of gastroenteritis diagnoses among emergency department visits has been slightly higher than that observed in late September 2015.
Similarly, activity at SOS Médecins clinics related to gastroenteritis is high compared to that recorded in previous years during the same period.
This high activity is also observed according to data from the Sentinelles Network.
Asthma Surveillance
Since mid-September, the proportion of asthma diagnoses in emergency department activity has been high, fluctuating around 70 diagnoses per 10,000 visits.
Over the past two weeks, the upward trend has continued for asthma-related activity at SOS Médecins associations in the region. This activity remains within the fluctuations observed in previous years during the same period.
Mortality Monitoring
According to available data, mortality rates for all ages and among people aged 75 and older observed over the past few weeks are consistent with seasonal norms.
