Vaccination in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Public Health Bulletin, April 2023.
Key Points
Stability of vaccination coverage (VC) (against meningococcal C, MMR, hexavalent, and pneumococcal vaccines) among infants
First estimate of meningococcal B vaccination coverage (recommended since June 2022):
VCO for 1 dose at 8 months is 50% for the region, a figure close to the national level.
Human papillomavirus vaccination: Continued progress (+5 percentage points increase in 2-dose vaccination coverage among 16-year-old girls), although vaccination coverage remains insufficient:
Among 15-year-old girls born in 2007, 1-dose coverage is stable;
Among 16-year-old girls born in 2006, the two-dose vaccination coverage is increasing;
This trend is observed in all departments of the region;
Low vaccination coverage against HPV infections among young boys (13.8% for the first dose at age 15, 9.1% for the second dose at age 16) for this vaccine introduced in 2021.
Insufficient influenza vaccination coverage (55%) among individuals with risk factors for severe influenza (compared to the 75% target):
Among those under 65, influenza vaccination coverage has been declining for the past two years following an increase in 2020–21;
Among those aged 65 and older, regional influenza vaccination coverage in 2022–23 was close to that of the previous year but lower than in 2020–21.
Vaccination uptake among the general population has continued to rise in the Centre-Val de Loire region since 2016, reaching 86.3% (2021 Health Barometer). As a result, the region ranks among the top three regions with the highest vaccination rates.
