COVID-19
Increase in virological indicators after several weeks of decline.
The BA.2 sublineage is predominant, accounting for 86.2% of interpretable sequences in the Flash S21 survey. Increase in the proportion of samples carrying the L452 (C1) mutation (20.6% in S22 vs. 7.4% in S21). Increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in ESMS.
COVIPREV Update: Continued decline in the routine wearing of masks in public and an increase in anxiety disorders and suicidal thoughts.
Acute gastroenteritis
In week 22, activity related to gastroenteritis was on the rise in hospital emergency departments.
Oscour®: moderate activity level: in week 22, the number of hospital emergency department visits for gastroenteritis (n = 191) was up compared to the previous week (n = 162) and accounted for 1.5% of coded visits (1.3% in week 21). Activity related to gastroenteritis was higher than that observed in 2021 and 2020 during the same period. Among children under 5 years of age, activity related to gastroenteritis was up compared to the previous week (6.1% vs. 4.5% in week 21).
In Week 22, the hospitalization rate was 14.7% (15.1% among children under 5 years of age), down from the previous week (20.9% in Week 21), and gastroenteritis accounted for 1.2% of the total number of hospitalizations (1.6% in Week 21).
Heat Wave and High Temperatures
In Week 22, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, the number of heat-related emergency department visits (n = 18) was down compared to Week 21 (n = 21) and accounted for 0.1% of all visits.
