Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of September 23, 2020.

Key Points

Infection with the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), COVID-19

As of September 21, 2020, 10,906 confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been diagnosed via RT-PCR testing in Brittany, including 1,873 in S38. Indicators of disease severity also increased between S37 and S38 (number of new hospitalizations, admissions to intensive care units), although they remain significantly lower than those in March.

Allergies

In week 37, a low to very low overall allergy risk was observed in Rennes, Pontivy, Dinan, and Brest. Week 37 marks the final pollen bulletin from the Capt-air association for 2020. It is important to continue ventilating homes, as indoor allergens will “take over” in the coming period.

Heat-related health issues

Brittany was under a green alert for the heatwave. Monitoring has now ended at the national level.
