Key Points

COVID-19

  • Increase in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (raw) IR rose from 429 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 39 to 479 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 40. The IR is rising in all four departments. Increase in the prevalence of general care hospitalizations and use of hospital emergency departments, stabilization of critical care hospitalizations, and decrease in use of SOS Médecins.

Bronchiolitis

  • Pre-epidemic activity. Increase in monitored indicators, particularly in the eastern part of the region.

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic activity. Sporadic detection of influenza A viruses by the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest university hospitals; an upward trend in SOS Médecins consultations.

Asthma

  • Oscour®: Stabilization in the number of emergency room visits, with 152 visits in Week 40 (compared to 145 in Week 39, a 5% increase). Children under 15 account for 62% of cases. Asthma accounts for 2.4% of emergency room visits in this age group.

  • SOS Médecins: slight decrease in the number of SOS Médecins consultations for asthma in week 39, with 42 consultations (vs. 46 in week 39). The number is within seasonal averages. Children under 15 account for 48% of cases (compared to 35% the previous week), with 20 consultations.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. Slight increase in the number of SOS Médecins consultations compared to the previous week.

Monkeypox

  • 40 confirmed cases were recorded in the Brittany region (place of residence) as of 10/11/22. The most affected department is Ille-et-Vilaine.
