Key Points
COVID-19
Increase in the incidence rate and positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate rose from 113.9 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 9 to 132.0 per 100,000 in Week 10. The positivity rate also rose, from 5.2% to 5.4%. The proportion of suspected cases of the so-called British variant is 77.3% in Brittany, and that of the Brazilian or South African variants is 5.5%. Vaccination coverage stands at 9.1% for a single dose. The situation regarding the 20-C variant, initially identified at Lannion Hospital, is under surveillance.
Mortality
The number of deaths across all age groups and among those aged 65 and older is below the thresholds in S08 and S09 (S08 subject to data consolidation, as data is not yet complete).
Bronchiolitis
Epidemic activity.
Oscour®: Decrease in the number of emergency room visits for two consecutive weeks. Bronchiolitis accounts for 7.7% of emergency room visits among children under 2 years of age.
SOS Médecins: Indicators remain stable compared to the previous week. Bronchiolitis accounts for 8% of consultations among children under 2 years of age in week 10.
Virology data: Circulation of RSV (n=13 at the virology laboratory of the Brest University Hospital and 21 at the Rennes University Hospital laboratory).
Gastroenteritis
Moderate activity.
Oscour®: Increase in the number of emergency department visits (113 visits in Week 10 versus 92 in Week 09) and in the associated visit rate compared to the previous week. Children under 5 years of age account for 48.7% of cases.
SOS Médecins: Stagnation in the number of consultations over the past 6 weeks (196 consultations versus 183 in Week 09).
Sentinelles Network: Low to moderate activity in week 10: incidence rate of acute diarrhea estimated at 69 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [32; 106], unconsolidated Sentinelles data).
Virological data: 3 positive samples in week 10 at Rennes University Hospital (1 adenovirus and 2 noroviruses) and 2 at Brest University Hospital (1 rotavirus and 1 adenovirus).
Influenza
Resumption of influenza surveillance since week 40.
No influenza activity.
No virus detected in week 10.
