Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of June 14, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
Increase in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (gross) IR rose from 260.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 22 to 329.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 23. IRs are rising in all four departments. Stabilization of hospitalizations in general and critical care, emergency room visits, and a slight increase in calls to SOS Médecins. Estimated vaccination coverage by place of residence stands at 84.5% for one dose and 83.7% for a full course.
Extreme heat, heat wave
Since the resumption of seasonal surveillance and through week 23, Brittany has remained under a green heat wave alert. There has been a slight decrease in healthcare utilization for heat-related conditions this week, but activity remains close to levels observed outside of heat wave periods.
Météo-France has placed Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan under a yellow heatwave alert starting June 15 (a heatwave is forecast for week 24 across much of mainland France).
Acute Gastroenteritis
Moderate activity. Decrease in the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week among children under 5. Increase in SOS Médecins indicators, except for children under 5, where a decrease in consultations is observed.
