COVID-19
Virology: Slight increase in the number of PCR tests in week 05 compared to the previous week, with 72,503 PCR tests in week 05 (+1.1% / W04 – unconsolidated data) – antigen testing has stabilized over the past 4 weeks, with 11,315 tests in week 05. Slight increase in the incidence rate and stagnation in the positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. In Week 05, the incidence rate rose slightly, from 106.7 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 04 to 109.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 05. The positivity rate is identical to that of Week 04, at 4.4%. The update to the flash survey of January 27 confirms widespread circulation of variants in the region.
SI-VIC: On February 10, 2021, there were 758 hospitalizations in Brittany, including 53 in intensive care. The majority of hospitalizations occurred in Ille-et-Vilaine (56.5%). There was an increase in hospitalizations compared to the previous week (+4.7%).
ESMS: Due to technical difficulties, data extraction could not be performed. Table 2 shows data from the previous week.
Oscour: Decrease in the number of emergency room visits in week 05 (144 versus 156 in week 04). 55.6% of visits resulted in hospitalization in week 05 (versus 62.8% in week 04).
SOS Médecins: Increase in the number of SOS Médecins consultations in week 05 (115 versus 78 consultations in week 04).
Intensive Care: Among the cases reported by sentinel intensive care units (202 cases), 71% were men and the median age was 69 years. The majority (87%) had at least one comorbidity. The most common were obesity (42%), high blood pressure (34%), and heart disease (29%).
Vaccination: As of February 9, 2021 (data by date of administration), 108,467 people had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Brittany, and 18,581 people had received two doses (data by date of administration, COVID-19 Vaccine data, CNAM, analyzed by Santé publique France). It is therefore estimated that, as of this date, 3.2% of the population in Brittany has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 0.6% has received two doses.
Bronchiolitis
Moderate activity, rising phase. Increase in the number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations compared to the previous week.
Oscour®: Increase in the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week. Bronchiolitis accounts for 5.98% of emergency room visits among children under 2 years of age in week 05.
SOS Médecins: Increase in indicators compared to the previous week. Bronchiolitis accounted for 7.17% of consultations among children under 2 years of age in week 05.
Virology data: Circulation of RSV (n=5 at the virology laboratory of the Brest University Hospital and 12 at the Rennes University Hospital laboratory).
Gastroenteritis
Activity on the rise with an increase in SOS Médecins consultations. Activity lower than in previous years for emergency department visits.
Oscour®: Increase in the number of emergency room visits over the past 3 consecutive weeks (77 visits) and in the associated visit rate compared to the previous week. Children under 5 years of age account for 54.4% of cases.
SOS Médecins: Increase in the number of consultations compared to the previous week (192 consultations versus 160 in S04).
Sentinelles Network: Low activity: incidence rate of acute diarrhea estimated at 75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [37; 113], unconsolidated Sentinelles data).
Virological data: No enteric viruses detected in week 05 at the Brest University Hospital. Three positive samples at the Rennes University Hospital (3 Norovirus genogroup GII).
Influenza
Resumption of influenza surveillance since week 40.
No influenza activity.
No viruses detected in week 04.
