Heat and Health in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté: A Review of the Summer of 2025.

  • More than 1,400 emergency care visits related to heat waves were recorded during the summer, 18% of which occurred during heat waves. People aged 75 and older and those aged 15–74 were the most affected (accounting for 45% and 43% of visits, respectively).

  • The estimated heat-related mortality is 267 deaths [95% confidence interval (CI95%): 180–340] over the entire summer, including more than 96 deaths during heat waves (36%). More than 80% of these deaths involved people aged 75 and older, both over the entire summer and during heatwave episodes.
