Bronchiolitis
The region is entering an epidemic phase.
According to the SOS Médecins associations, the proportion of cases of bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age is increasing (8.9% in Week 48 vs. 7.1% in Week 1).
The proportion of emergency room visits for bronchiolitis has been rising over the past two weeks, though it remains below the levels seen in the previous two years (9.9% in Week 48 vs. 7.3% in Week 1).
Moderate circulation of RSV.
Surveillance of severe cases of bronchiolitis (< 2 years) admitted to pediatric intensive care began in week 40. Five cases of bronchiolitis have been reported. A description of the cases reported in France is available in the national IRA bulletin.
Influenza
Activity in emergency departments and SOS Médecins associations slightly increased, remaining at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
The Île-de-France region entered a flu epidemic in week 48, suggesting that the virus is likely to spread to Bourgogne-Franche-Comté by next week.
Increased viral circulation in urban areas (26 influenza viruses were isolated in week 48 vs. 9 in week 1).
Surveillance of severe influenza cases (all ages) admitted to intensive care began in week 40. Two severe influenza cases have been reported. A description of the cases reported in France is available in the national IRA bulletin.
COVID-19
The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 is low.
Surveillance of severe COVID-19 cases (all ages) admitted to intensive care began in week 40. A total of 23 severe COVID-19 cases were reported.

Acute Respiratory Infections
The majority of ARI episodes reported since Week 36 by long-term care facilities (LTCFs) were attributed exclusively to COVID-19: 119 out of the 148 reported episodes. The number of new episodes has been low since Week 42 (mid-October). Since Week 46, episodes attributed exclusively to COVID-19 have decreased. Two episodes attributed exclusively to influenza were identified in weeks 40 and 47. One episode attributed exclusively to RSV occurred in week 47. Finally, since week 40, three episodes of COVID-19/influenza co-infection have been reported (the most recent in week 47).
The number of reports of cluster cases is lower than that recorded during the same period last year.
Acute gastroenteritis
Activity is low and comparable to the previous two years in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
