Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of October 21, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • Regionally: Incidence and positivity rates are rising slightly in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté; despite this trend, the incidence rate remains below the threshold of 50 per 10,000 residents (33 per 10,000 in S41) and the national incidence rate (48 per 10,000 residents). The testing rate is high and slightly decreasing (particularly among those aged 15–44).

  • Incidence and positivity rates by age group show contrasting trends: they are rising among those aged 65 and older (38 per 10,000 in Week 41 compared to 25 per 10,000 in Week 40) and stable for other age groups. This increase among those aged 65 and older is particularly noticeable in Haute-Saône and Saône-et-Loire.

  • The number of new hospitalizations and new admissions to critical care, as well as the number of outbreaks reported by medical-social institutions (ESMS), remains low.

  • At the departmental level: Departmental incidence rates are rising slightly, ranging from 18.0 per 10,000 inhabitants (Nièvre) to 45.9 per 10,000 inhabitants (Haute-Saône); three departments are seeing a decrease: Nièvre, Jura, and Yonne
