Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of March 3, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
Virus circulation is decreasing across all age groups. The decline in the positivity rate is smaller among those under 25 (-8% vs. -13% for other age groups). Although rates are falling, the highest incidence rate is once again observed among people aged 25 to 44. The highest positivity rate is found among those under 15 (32% vs. between 17% and 30% for other age groups).
Flu
The region is in the pre-epidemic phase for the 7th consecutive week.
The rate of visits remains moderate in emergency departments. The trend shown in Figure 1 should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.
One new severe case of influenza reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network (a total of 5 influenza cases admitted to intensive care since late 2021); no new outbreaks of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in communities (4 ongoing outbreaks / 20 reported since September 1, 2021. Among the reports, 3 are linked to influenza).
Bronchiolitis
End of the epidemic since S04-2022.
The rate of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis has been declining for several weeks and remains below the trends observed during the two previous seasons.
The sharp downward trend observed should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.
Acute gastroenteritis
The rate of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis is decreasing slightly but remains at a high level compared to the previous two seasons.
The observed trend should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.
