Getting started with e-DO is easy.

e-DO is the mandatory electronic reporting system (DO) for HIV/AIDS, which has been in use by all reporting entities in France since April 1, 2016.A DGS directive regarding the rollout of the e-DO application, issued on July 4, 2016, informed regional health agencies (ARS), healthcare facilities, and medical laboratories of the preliminary steps to be taken in preparation for the application’s rollout to facilitate its implementation1.Logging into this application requires a CPS card (healthcare professional card). The CPS card is automatically issued by ASIP Santé to all healthcare professionals registered with the professional associations of physicians, pharmacists, midwives, and dental surgeons. Non-medical staff (clinical research technicians, interns, etc.) must rely on a cardholder who authorizes them to submit reports in their name and with their rights. This activated profile then allows these professionals to access the application. This card ensures strong authentication of reporters and the security of information exchanges.Prior to this, the workstations from which the e-DO application will be used must be equipped with card readers. If the facility does not have a CPS card reader, SESAM-Vitale-certified dual-slot readers that read the patient’s Vitale card may be used.
