Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of March 17, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
The circulation of the virus is increasing, resulting in rising incidence and positivity rates across all age groups except for those aged 15–24, where, although incidence is indeed rising (11%), the positivity rate has decreased by 2%. Against a backdrop of increased testing, the positivity rate is very high among those under 15 (around 35% vs. 16–28% for other age groups).
The situation described at the regional level is consistent at the departmental level, with high viral circulation in all departments, incidence rates between 440 and 555 per 100,000 inhabitants, and positivity rates between 22% and 28%.
Flu
This week, the region entered an epidemic phase.
Activity at SOS Médecins and emergency departments shows a significant increase this week (Figures 1 and 2). The trend observed in Figure 1 should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.
Two new severe cases of influenza were reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network this week (a total of 7 influenza cases admitted to intensive care since late 2021).
Bronchiolitis
End of the epidemic since S04-2022.
Activity among SOS Médecins associations and emergency departments for bronchiolitis is low and is within the ranges observed during the two previous seasons or even lower.
Acute gastroenteritis
The activity rate for gastroenteritis reported by SOS Médecins associations has decreased this week but remains higher than in the two previous seasons. The trend shown in Figure 6 should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.
The rate of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis rose slightly again this week and remains at a high level compared to the previous two seasons.
