Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of February 26, 2021.
Key Points
COVID-19
Epidemiological indicators of the COVID-19 pandemic show that SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate at high levels, with a prolonged impact on mortality. Even though indicators are declining significantly, it is necessary to maintain prevention and distancing measures, including among vaccinated individuals, given the emergence of new variants.
ReferenceBronchiolitis
Bronchiolitis activity among children under 2 years of age is not currently at epidemic levels. However, there has been an increase in activity in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins clinics
Influenza
Flu-related activity at SOS Médecins and emergency departments remains low. This season, due to the active circulation of SARS-CoV-2, surveillance of flu cases hospitalized in intensive care has been expanded to include severe cases of COVID-19. No severe flu cases have currently been reported in the region by intensive care units.
Gastroenteritis
Activity at SOS Médecins associations and emergency departments for gastroenteritis is stable (Figures 5 and 6), though it remains below the trends observed during the previous two seasons.
