Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of February 2, 2023.
Key Points
COVID-19
The epidemic is stabilizing this week, both in terms of virological indicators—with incidence and positivity rates at low levels—and hospital indicators. This trend is consistent with the situation described at the national level.
The proportion of COVID-19 cases in the total caseload of SOS Médecins associations and emergency departments is low.
The Omicron variant is circulating almost exclusively in the region, with the BA.5 sublineage predominating (79% of interpretable sequences in the Flash S03 survey); among its sublineages, BQ.1.1 appears to be declining (56% vs. 67% for Flash S02).
Bronchiolitis
Post-epidemic phase.
The bronchiolitis epidemic continued to decline in week 04, with a gradual decrease in activity at SOS Médecins clinics and in emergency departments.
Influenza
Epidemic phase.
After 4 weeks of decline, influenza-related activity has generally stabilized at SOS Médecins clinics and in emergency departments.
31 reports of clusters of acute respiratory infections in long-term care facilities since early October.
26 severe cases of influenza admitted to intensive care reported by the intensive care sentinel network.
Acute gastroenteritis
Activity at SOS Médecins clinics has been increasing for the past 4 weeks and is above the levels observed in previous seasons.
Activity in emergency departments remains moderate, stable, and below last season’s levels.
