Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of February 17, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
A decline in incidence and positivity rates is observed in all departments and across all age groups, but viral circulation remains high, with more than 2,000 new cases per 100,000 residents last week (1,000 cases per 100,000 residents in recent days) and a high regional positivity rate. The frequent use of self-tests, which must then be confirmed by an antigen or PCR test if positive, certainly contributes to keeping this positivity rate at a high level.
The impact of the epidemic on hospital activity is characterized by a decrease in the use of emergency care, a decrease in routine hospitalizations, and a decrease in critical care admissions.
Influenza
The region remains in the pre-epidemic phase. SOS Médecins and emergency room activity related to influenza is relatively stable
5 ongoing outbreaks of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in communities (3 influenza-related outbreaks among the 20 reports since September 1, 2021)
No new severe cases of influenza reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network this week (a total of 4 influenza cases admitted to intensive care)
Bronchiolitis
Bronchiolitis-related activity is stable for SOS Médecins associations (Figure 3) and continues to decline in emergency departments
The epidemic trend appears comparable to the pattern observed during the 2019-20 season, with a peak in December and a decline continuing into January
Acute gastroenteritis
SOS Médecins activity continues to rise and slightly exceeds the activity seen during the 2019-20 season
The rate of visits for gastroenteritis in emergency departments continues to rise and remains at high levels
