Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of August 13, 2021

Key Points

COVID-19

The increase in testing observed in July slowed in week 31, and the positivity rate reached 3%: the positivity rate rose notably among those under 15 (>5%) and those 65 and older (2.5%). The vast majority of people tested are asymptomatic (likely due to the “Health Pass” requirement for recreational and cultural venues), few of whom test positive (2%), while one in five symptomatic individuals tests positive: the risk of testing positive among symptomatic individuals is 1 in 10 for those aged 65 and older,
1 in 5 for those aged 45–64, and 1 in 4 for those under 45.

The number of new hospitalizations has increased slightly compared to last week, but the number of admissions to intensive care
has doubled (26 vs. 13 in Week 30).

At the regional level, there is a slight increase in the incidence rate amid stabilizing testing rates and positivity rates. Hospital indicators continue their upward trends this week (new hospitalizations and admissions to critical care units).

At the departmental level: the threshold of 100 per 100,000 inhabitants has been exceeded in all departments except Nièvre, Haute-Saône
, and Yonne. The Belfort department shows a relatively high positivity rate (4.3% in Week 31)
