Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of April 21, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation has slowed in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté but remains at a high level (1,360 per 100,000 inhabitants, -5%). Incidence and positivity rates are decreasing across all age groups, except among those aged 65 and older (+6%), amid a decline in testing, and in all departments, except in Saône-et-Loire, where they are rising slightly (+2%). Departmental incidence rates range from 1,114 (Territoire de Belfort) to 1,484 per 100,000 inhabitants (Côte-d’Or).
Acute gastroenteritis
The rate of visits to emergency departments for gastroenteritis is certainly lower this week, but remains at a high level compared to previous seasons.
Influenza
The region has been in an epidemic phase since Week 10.
Activity at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments remains at very high levels, exceeding activity in previous seasons.
Six new severe cases of influenza were reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network this week (a total of 23 ICU admissions since the end of 2021).
No new outbreaks of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in group settings (9 ongoing outbreaks out of 32 reported since September 1, 2021. Of the reported cases, 8 are linked to the flu).
Bronchiolitis
Activity at SOS Médecins clinics and emergency departments for bronchiolitis remains at low levels.
