CoviPrev: Epidemiological Update for Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. March 2021
Key Points
Adoption of protective measures and behaviors
Adherence to physical distancing recommendations declined after the first lockdown was lifted. At the same time, risky social behaviors increased. A return to more protective behaviors took hold with the second lockdown.
An increase in physical distancing indicators was observed during the second lockdown, which was implemented without interrupting school activities and while maintaining many professional activities; however, the levels of these indicators remain below those reached during the first lockdown.
Lower adherence to preventive measures (hygiene and physical distancing) was observed among men, people under 35, those not at risk of developing severe COVID-19, and people with low health literacy.
Mental Health
Depressive disorders affected approximately 20% of participants from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in the CoviPrev surveys during lockdown periods, compared to only 10% outside of these periods.
Sleep problems reported by participants in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté affect 60% to 65% of individuals, with no obvious link to lockdown periods.
