  • The Sentinelles network has issued a call for contributions to influenza surveillance in the Rhône-Alpes region for the 2015-2016 season.

  • World AIDS Day on December 1: A Health Surveillance Bulletin dedicated to 2014 surveillance data on sexually transmitted infections (syphilis, gonorrhea, HIV, AIDS) in Rhône-Alpes will be released very soon.

  • BEH "Climate Change and Health: New Challenges for Epidemiology and Public Health": The climate change already observed is likely to intensify in the coming years. This article, published in the BEH on November 24, 2015, reflects on observed and future climate-related changes in France, the foreseeable consequences in terms of health impacts, and the challenges of the measures to be taken.

  • Enhanced surveillance of chikungunya and dengue in Rhône-Alpes: End of enhanced surveillance. The preliminary results for the season indicate that between May 1 and November 30, 2015, 28 cases of dengue and 8 cases of imported chikungunya were confirmed in the 5 departments of the region covered by this program. No locally acquired cases were detected in Rhône-Alpes.

  • 2015 Seasonal Surveillance of Mushroom Poisoning Cases: Since the start of surveillance (June 29, 2015), 139 cases of poisoning have been recorded in Rhône-Alpes.

  • Ebola Update in West Africa: As of November 27, 2015, the WHO reports a total of 28,601 cases (suspected, probable, and confirmed) and 11,299 deaths in the three most affected countries (Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea). Sierra Leone was officially declared free of Ebola virus transmission by the WHO on November 7, 2015. In Guinea, no new cases have been reported since October 29, 2015. However, Liberia, which was declared free of transmission on September 3, 2015, reported 4 new cases on November 20, 2015, and was re-added to the list of risk areas in the case definition by the InVS.
