Situation in Rhône-Alpes

• Various influenza indicators reached their baseline levels in week 16 (April 16–22). Only one new severe case of influenza has been hospitalized in the past two weeks. Although surveillance of severe influenza cases will continue for some time, this is the last time we will present detailed influenza surveillance results for this season in the epidemiological update. A BVS report, prepared by the Cire, will soon provide a summary of the 2011–2012 influenza epidemic.

• Diagnoses of gastroenteritis made by emergency departments, the SOS Médecins associations, and the Sentinelles network continue to decline.
