Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. Update as of December 31, 2017.

Update

Since October 1, 2017, 58 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning have been reported in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This number is higher than last year’s (42 during the same period in 2016) due to the significant number of poisonings that occurred in November this season.For the month of December, this figure is slightly higher than last year’s. The Loire remains the most affected department, with 12 cases since October 1, ahead of the Rhône and Ain (8 cases each). No incidents were reported in Puy-de-Dôme and Cantal. During these 58 incidents, 197 people were exposed and 112 were transported to hospital emergency rooms. One death was recorded. The victim was a person who had left their vehicle running in their garage.
