Number of emergency room visits in the Oscour® network in February 2022

  • All mental health disorders, adults: 6,184 visits, slightly higher (>) than in 2021

  • All mental health disorders, children: 627 visits, > previous years

  • Suicidal acts (age 11 and older): 668 visits, > than in previous years

  • Suicidal ideation (age 11 and older): 429 visits, more than twice as many as in previous years

  • Anxiety disorders (all ages): 1,859 visits, slightly > than in previous years

  • Mood disorders (all ages): 1,330 visits, slightly higher than in previous years

  • Number of visits for mental health disorders higher than in previous years, possibly linked to an actual increase or to improved coding of emergency department visits

Indicators from the CoviPrev survey of the adult population, waves 31–32 (Jan. 11–Feb. 14, 2022)

  • Prevalence of depressive disorders: 17.4% [14.3%–21.0%*], stable

  • Prevalence of suicidal ideation: 10.3% [7.9%–13.3%], trend ↗

  • Prevalence of anxiety disorders: 20.4% [17.1%–24.2%], downward trend

  • Prevalence of sleep problems: 67.6% [63.4%–71.6%], rising trend
