Health Surveillance in Auvergne. Epidemiological Update as of April 24, 2015.
High pollen allergy risk The National Aerobiological Monitoring Network (RNSA) is an association whose primary purpose is to study the concentration of biological particles in the air that may affect the risk of allergies among the population. RNSA forecasts predict a week with high pollen levels across France (week 17), particularly birch pollen, which will cause the highest allergy risk from Strasbourg to Rouen, extending down to the Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes regions. Allergy sufferers, who are particularly sensitive to this pollen, must strictly follow their treatment or consult their doctor. The number of SOS Médecins Clermont-Ferrand interventions for allergies (n = 31) increased in week 16, accounting for 4% of the association’s activity. Twenty cases were seen by emergency departments participating in the surveillance program (1% of activity). Nationally, the number of allergy-related consultations is also rising, accounting for 3% of SOS Médecins’ activity and 1% of hospital emergency room activity. The RNSA provides a digital pollen alert app (for tablets and smartphones) that allows users to check alert levels at the departmental level.
Prevention and Public Health DaysWith a view to strengthening their collaboration, INPES, INVS, and EPRUS are joining forces to organize the Prevention and Public Health Days, which will take place on June 9, 10, and 11 at the Centre Universitaire des Saints-Pères (Paris). All information is available on the dedicated website.
