Key Points

COVID-19

  • In Week 44, the spread of SARS-CoV-2 continues to slow in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Hospital indicators (new hospitalizations and the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19) are decreasing. SOS Médecins calls, emergency room visits, and reports to long-term care facilities are also decreasing.

Bronchiolitis

  • 4th epidemic week

  • In hospital settings, according to data provided by emergency departments in the Oscour® network, emergency department visits and hospitalizations for a diagnosis of bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes increased in Week 44 compared to previous weeks.

  • In Week 44, 693 emergency department visits for bronchiolitis were recorded, representing 20.1% of visits in this age group (vs. 16.2% in Week 43).

  • The regional epidemic trend for bronchiolitis is high and continues to rise in Week 44 in the region, despite the school break.

Influenza

  • Slight increase in SOS Médecins calls.

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • Surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika cases continues: 28 imported cases of dengue and two cases of chikungunya have been identified in the region since surveillance began in May 2022.
