In S17, SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation remains at epidemic levels throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, but all virological indicators are declining. In hospitals, indicators remain high but are trending downward.

Influenza

• Transition to the post-epidemic phase.

• According to Oscour®, emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness across all age groups in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes continue to decline sharply. In Week 17, 214 emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness were recorded (-61% compared to Week 16), representing 0.5% of all emergency department visits (down from Week 16). Of these 214 visits, 37 were followed by hospitalization, representing a hospitalization rate of 17.3% for this diagnosis, higher than in Week 16. Hospitalizations for influenza/influenza-like illness accounted for 0.5% of all hospitalizations in Week 17, down from the previous week.

• According to SOS Médecins, the number of cases continued to decline in Week 17, with 248 cases of influenza/influenza-like illness recorded (580 cases in Week 16), representing 4.5% of total activity (9.2% in Week 16).

• The Sentinelles network also shows a decline in the incidence rate of influenza-like illness cases seen in general practice in Week 17, with the rate falling from 110 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [64–156]) in Week 16 to 55 (95% CI [23–87]) in Week 17.
