Health Monitoring in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. Update as of February 17, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
In Week 06, all indicators tracking the COVID-19 epidemic are trending downward. The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 is declining sharply but remains at a high level in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The incidence rate is 1,302 per 100,000 inhabitants, down 44%. Incidence rates are decreasing across all departments and age groups.
The number of new hospitalizations for COVID-19 is high (>1,500) but continues to decline (-26%); the number of new admissions to critical care units is also trending downward (-4%). The total number of hospitalized patients is slowly decreasing, as is the number of patients in critical care units. Strict adherence to preventive measures, continued vaccination, and compliance with all recommended measures in the event of symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to a high-risk contact remain essential to limit the health impact of the COVID-19 wave linked to the Omicron variant.
