COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as of July 16, 2020
Summary
In week 28 (July 6–12, 2020), the main epidemiological indicators for COVID-19 stabilized or rose slightly and remained below the alert thresholds.
Indicators of outpatient and emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 continued their slow increase.
The positivity rate (0.7%) and incidence rate (3.5/100,000) for SARS-CoV-2 increased in Week 28, while remaining below the regional and departmental attention thresholds. This increase primarily concerns the Drôme and Ardèche departments and, to a lesser extent, the Rhône department. These increases are linked to the clusters currently being monitored in our region.
Hospitalizations for COVID-19 continue to decline or stabilize. The number of reported suspected COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities and clusters currently under investigation in the region is also rising, although these increases remain small.
The situation calls for the utmost vigilance regarding compliance with preventive measures, particularly during family gatherings and festive events, which are common during this summer season.
