Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Public Health Bulletin. April 2018.
Key Points
Vaccination coverage for the "diphtheria-tetanus-polio, pertussis, and Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) booster" among children aged 24 months is generally close to the 95% target across all departments in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (ARA) region.
The coverage rate for the "3-dose hepatitis B" vaccine among children aged 24 months is below 95% in all departments. Although on the rise, most departmental coverage rates are also below the national average.
The "pneumococcal 3-dose" vaccination coverage rates have generally been increasing over the past three years across all departments in the region. The departments of Ardèche and Haute-Loire have the lowest coverage rates, which are below the national average.
All "MMR 1- and 2-dose" vaccination coverage rates are insufficient (<95%) to prevent any risk of an epidemic. Since 2018, a resurgence in the number of measles cases has been observed in the region.
Between 2015 and 2017, vaccination coverage rates against meningococcal C increased across all age groups. However, coverage rates remain low and, overall, below the national average. These coverage rates are insufficient to lead to a decrease in the incidence of meningococcal C infections in the region.
Regardless of birth cohort, HPV vaccination coverage is low, with approximately one in five adolescents having completed the vaccination series. Although still very insufficient, vaccination coverage has generally been increasing over the past three years across all departments in the region.
