The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region experienced two heat waves during the summer of 2024. The health impact of the heat resulted in 527 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 2,185 emergency room visits (1,539 of which resulted in hospitalization) and 311 SOS Médecins interventions for iCanicule.
