Surveillance of arboviral diseases in the Caribbean. Update as of April 13, 2017.
Summary
MartiniqueOver the past eight weeks, epidemiological indicators for dengue and chikungunya have remained stable and well below the maximum values expected for the season. No outbreaks have been identified during this period. The epidemiological situation continues to correspond to Phase 1 of the Psage*: "sporadic transmission."
Epidemiological indicators collected by the surveillance system show that Zika virus circulation remains very low. The Committee of Experts on Infectious and Emerging Diseases (CEMIE) in Martinique proposes moving to Phase 1 of the Psage, "sporadic transmission," throughout the department. Nevertheless, as part of the surveillance of the Zika epidemic and its delayed health impact, all brain abnormalities detected before and after birth are still being closely monitored.

Indeed, few clinically suggestive cases of dengue have been reported in recent weeks, and only a few probable cases of chikungunya have been identified since the last epidemiological update. The situation corresponds to Phase 1 of the Psage* for these two arboviral diseases in Guadeloupe: "sporadic transmission."
