Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Epidemiological indicators show that the epidemic is continuing on the island of Cayenne and in western French Guiana. The situation remains stable in the Kourou area and in Roura, where clusters of virus transmission are still active. New clusters are emerging in the municipality of Apatou.On Tuesday, October 14, the management committee approved the transition to Phase 3 of the Psage, corresponding to an epidemic situation for the coastal municipalities stretching from Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni to Roura. The other municipalities remained in Phase 2b, corresponding to moderate local transmission of the virus with epidemic clusters and local chains of transmission.
