Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation
During October and the first three weeks of November (S2013-40 to 47), dengue activity remained at levels typically observed during the inter-epidemic period. Only the DEN-2 serotype was detected during this period. Sporadic cases continue to be detected in the western sector, and outbreaks have been identified on the island of Cayenne. After more than a year of epidemic conditions, the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the Kourou sector led the Committee for the Monitoring of Human Diseases Transmitted by Insects to declare, on November 25, a return to normal for this sector (see summary on page 4). The epidemic is over throughout the territory (see summary in the banner). The Committee recommends that the ARS implement management actions corresponding to Phase 5 of the Psage** dengue program.
